Here we are… the final week of the school year. It’s hard to believe that there are only three and a half days of school left, in what I would consider to be a great school year. Here are a few events taking place this week:
Monday, June 25th
Kindergarten Celebration. Mrs. Tenveen and the Kindergarten students will be celebrating the completion of the first year of school for these 20 amazing students. The celebration will take place at 12:30 pm, in the Library.
Tuesday, June 26th
SAS-Jackson Campus Orientation Tour. The Grade 8 students will be visiting Jackson Campus to meet some of the teachers and staff members, as well as receive a tour of their new school. This is a big step for our Grade 8s, as some of them have only ever attended Ranchero Elementary, and now they are heading off on new adventures.
Recognition Assembly. At approximately 12:30 pm, we will be having a Recognition Assembly to acknowledge all of the students who participated in various sporting events, leadership, etc.
Wednesday, June 27th
Kindergarten and Grade 7/8 Field Trip. The students in Mrs. Tenveen’s class and Miss Turner’s class will be visiting the Allan Brooks Nature Centre in Vernon. The students will participate in four different activity stations. These two buddy classes should have an excellent day!
Thursday, June 28th
Final Day of School. The final day of school will start with a year-end assembly at 8:30. All families are welcome to join us as we say farewell to our Grade 8 students and some of our staff members. The assembly will end with a slideshow, highlighting all of the great things that took place this year at Ranchero Elementary. After the assembly, the students will return to their classes, where the teachers will hand out the students’ report cards and say good-bye to their classes. The students will be dismissed at 10:00 am. The buses will run at this time, so your children will arrive at their usual bus stop four hours early on Thursday.
