Ranchero Functional School Closure

A Functional School Closure for Ranchero School as been declared for Monday, January 15, 2024. Students and staff will not attend school. School Principal Ms. Langston would have communicated to families both Friday and Saturday by email about the ongoing heating challenges at our school. District operations are monitoring room temperatures at the school over the weekend. Even with supplemental heaters, temperatures inside the school have fallen below an acceptable level for student and staff well-being. Ms. Langston will continue to communicate to families by email, on this school website ran.sd83.bc.ca and we will also communicate to families regarding this situation by an automated phone messaging system.

This is not the news we had hoped to share today, and we apologise for any inconvenience this might cause and we will continue to update you about plans for Tuesday no later than noon Monday, January 15.
